More Than One Home
My two homes
are on the opposite side of the Earth. My first home is the place of my birth
and childhood; it’s a small town in Southern China called TaiShan. TaiShan has
its own dialect that is only spoken there and is the only language we speak at
my house, so whenever I go back to TaiShan, I feel very comfortable and free. My
second home is the house I’m living with my family right now in Baltimore
because we lived here for the nine years that we've been in America, so home is
where I feel I belong.

I like the map on your blog because I always see the same map on my cellphone. When I take a picture the phone will record the place. So I can see a lot picture from China and The USA.
ReplyDeleteI also like the map that you posted because I like to see where things are relative to where I'm at. I thought it was interesting that you called baltimore your second home (and I'm assuming that your not saying second as in chronological order) even though you lived there for nine years. I guess there really is nothing like "home".
ReplyDeleteI think it's pretty cool that you have two homes instead of just one. It's nice to "belong" in more than one place. I'm Cambodian-American but I've always lived in the US, I think it would be really nice to visit the place where my parents are from. I think it's nice that you included a picture to show how far away you are from one home to another, yet you feel connected in both places.
